About Me

A lifelong artisan, I enjoy working in a variety of media and techniques: Glass, metals, enamels, ceramics, jewelry, and whatever else tickles my creative fancy. I am constantly learning and striving to improve my skills.

Jewelry & personal adornments have always been a fascination of mine.

In 2002 I discovered Metal Clay and shortly thereafter was introduced to the wonders of lampwork glass. Metal Clay was a natural transition, after 20 years of working in ceramics and metalsmithing. The almost magical transformation of the Metal Clay to fine silver never ceases to astound me. Lampwork was absolutely enthralling, forming molten glass into elegant, otherworldly forms. The subtle interactions of the voluptuousness of glass and the alchemy of Metal Clay are boundless and a constant source of delight and inspiration.

I have studied with glass artists Leah Fairbanks, James Smircich, Michael Barley, Andrea Guarino-Slemmons, Trey Cornett, and many others. Metal clay artists I have studied with include Hadar Jacobson, Holly Gage, Barbara Becker-Simon, Gordon Uyehara, and Hattie Sanderson. I am also a Certified Artisan with the PMC Guild.

In the Spring of 2011 I am going to Venice and Murano with Ofilia Cinta, among others, to study at the Orsoni Mosaic School and with the great Lucio Bubacco and Emilio Santini. Molto eccitante!

Ciao!
